A leading Mexican restaurant with a 50-year history and nearly 1,500 locations, Vips was under increasing pressure from local and international chains.
To help them meet the challenge, Watt re-imagined the dining experience with the goal of drawing in a new generation of diners.
A nod to the importance of the kitchen in Mexican culture, the “heart of the home” concept created a variety of defined zones offering different types of experiences, allowing diners to find their comfort zone.
To further enhance the emotional connection, each restaurant is decorated with local black and white family-style photos that tell stories about that specific neighbourhood.
The net effect: a highly localized and personal dining experience for a brand that has a national footprint.
